HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced that the city has welcomed 3.5 million international visitors, up 12.9 percent compared on last year and fulfilling this year's plan.
Accordingly, the number of visitors to the city by air reached 2.65 million, up by 6 percent over the same period last year, and the US , Japan and China were the leaders in top 10 tourist markets.
The city's total revenue from tourism sector was estimated to reach 49 trillion VND (2.33 billion USD), rising 19.5 percent year-on-year, of which, revenue from restaurants and hotels was 29 trillion VND and revenue from travelling service reached 12 trillion VND.
