Viet people is the majority ethnic group of Vietnam,
comprising about 86% the population. This tour will discover their culture and history
with two special sites in Hanoi: Thanh Chuong Palace and Co Loa Citadel. The
first is a miniature of Viet people's life and culture with many beautiful
paintings, all-sized objects and documents. The second are the relics from the
earlier history of Ancient Viet people: several constructions and objects
related to their daily life and wars against northern conquerors.
ITINERARY
We start from your hotel at 8:00AM, and drive about 30 km to Thanh Chuong
Palace - a focus of Vietnamese ancient culture. Paintings of artist Thanh
Chuong and his collections including old houses, relics, antiques, etc., will
bring an exotic experience for your trip. For ones who have deep passion on
Vietnamese cultures, it will take days to discover the site. There are about 20
places to see at the site, for example, the water puppet theater, the house on
stilts, the Mountain God Tower, the thatched cottage with earthen walls, the
horse shrine, the Champa gate etc. In one of the houses, there are the most
valuable antiques.
Lunch is served in a nice restaurant. In the afternoon, we visit Co Loa
Citadel, a special site including 3 circles of earth walls built by the king of
Au Lac Nation in the 3rd century B.C, and several relics showing the
civilization and wars of Ancient Viet People.
Drop back at your hotel late afternoon.
